Our names are Matthew Vail and Steven Kotow. We are a songwriting and performing duo that met each other while attending the Australian Institute of Music. Steven has studied under the tutelage of James Morrison as part of the Generation in Jazz Academy, located in Mount Gambier. Matthew has graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Performance).

We began writing together and found a fit very quickly. Ideas flowed and we created, and continue to create, songs we are very proud of. We listen to a multitude of genres, taking elements from Soul, Blues, Jazz and Pop under the moniker of ‘Vale’. 

Our repertoire revolves around all genres of music and contains an array of new popular music, Australian rock, classic pop and a variety of styles and genres to suit the venue we are performing within.
