Frances Madden

Frances is one of Australia’s most exciting and in-demand ‘popular jazz’ artists. Described by ABC Classic FM’s Mal Stanley as ‘one to watch’, Frances is a classy vocalist, pianist and original songwriter in the style of Diana Krall and Norah Jones.

Frances and her band specialise in weddings, but also perform at a range of other events including birthdays and corporate functions, as well as regular residencies in hotels and restaurants around Sydney. Frances delights her audiences with her mixture of up-tempo swing & classics, engaging blues and moving ballads.

Whilst a specialising cocktail jazz and soul band, they are also able to kick it up a notch for the dance floor with a mixture of top 40 pop tunes and dance floor classics. For these occasions Frances often works with a male vocalist and multi-instrumentalist on guitar and saxophone, Chris Gable, who brings his repertoire of everything from smooth jazz to classic dance and pop-rock.

Frances usually appears with a quartet or quintet with vocals & piano, guitar, drums, double or electric bass & saxophone. She is also able to perform solo vocal & piano, or with various smaller ensembles.
